Situated within a high-rise residential building, the apartment enjoys expansive views and abundant natural greenery. Yet its original developer layout divided light, air, and daily life into a series of enclosed rooms, leaving little continuity between them.
The project began with a simple question: How does everyday life unfold?
Rather than assigning fixed functions to each room, the design reconsiders the home as an evolving framework—one that accommodates changing routines instead of prescribing them. Through the selective removal of partitions, the apartment is reorganized into a continuous H-shaped circulation. Movement is no longer simply a means of passage, but a sequence that gently connects reading, cooking, resting, gathering, and the many rhythms in between.
Storage, while essential, is treated as part of the architecture rather than as a collection of individual objects. Cabinetry is consolidated into a continuous wall system, quietly integrating the entrances to both bathrooms. What once appeared as fragmented functional elements recedes into the background, allowing the interior to be experienced as a calm and coherent whole.
The material palette returns to a fundamental architectural vocabulary. White walls, pale oak, and grey stone establish a restrained backdrop for everyday living. Built-in cabinetry and the raised platform bed are conceived as adaptable elements rather than fixed furniture. A room may serve as a study today, a guest room tomorrow, and another family member's bedroom in the future.
Life inevitably changes.
A home does not need to determine every answer from the beginning. Sometimes it is enough to leave room for time to complete what architecture intentionally leaves open.The completed project is therefore not a fixed composition of rooms, but a living framework—one shaped by movement, thresholds, and light, continuing to evolve alongside the everyday lives it quietly supports.
